Replacing fogs in P5 soon.

Hi, i'll be replacing the fog lights in my P5 in the spring/summer.

I wanted to know what brand/model would be the easiest to install??

TIA

if you want ones similar to stock, go with PIAA 40s, they are only like a half inch bigger and make for a perfect fit. i have them on my mp3 converted ES, and they are sweet. they are really bright and install is fairly simple. it requires cutting and soldering of a few wires in order to make the stock wiring usable. check out the link in my sig to see what they look like.

hey mtbfreak. where did ya get your piaa 40's from? i'm also doin a p5/mp3 conversion. i was gonna get the 5462's but they're like 185.00/pair.

i got mine at a local place, but i remember that www.imotorgear.com has them for 130ish. check that out. if not they shouldnt be hard to find. most piaa dealers should have them. make sure you get the driving lights, not the fogs.

What would be the difference between the fogs and the driving lights??

mtbfreak40 January-10th-2003 04:43 PM

when i was searching around for mine, everybody told me to get those. its in a couple posts on here. i duno what the advantage is, but everybody told me to stay away from fogs. check out the howto on the lights in this forum. i think it says it there too.

I'm not an expert, but I think fog lights are what they say, for fog. Thus, I believe they have wide dispersion and the light is more diffused, enhancing fog visibility.

Meanwhile, driving lights are probably more focused and aimed (by the installer) to point far ahead of the road even beyond the headlights to be used for high-speed driving on highways at night.

You should check this info by doing a search as there are people who are more knowledgeable about this.
