removing scratches in my windshield, any tips
before , I shell out dough on a new windshield down at Hunts Point. Does anyone have any tips on removing scratches. The damn girl that had the car before me , used the wipers and when I pulled them off there was no rubber , so the metal from the wiper scratched up the window. but I am wondering if there is a way I can buff this out ..
Well post your thoughts, a pic is below Bruce http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...d/fc31a014.jpg |
Depends on how deep they are. Most glass polishing agents can only get out very light scratches. For deeper ones, you're kinda stuck. You could probably have them professionally taken out - but the new windshield will probably cost less.....
I can't wait to get new glass in my P5. 45,000 miles, and it is pitted to all hell - driving into the sun is getting damn near impossible. If you've never had a new windshield put on a car, it is a GREAT feeling! Get in and see that crystal-clear view in front of you - it's like putting on your favorie sweats and new socks after being out in the cold rain for 2 days...;) ~HH |

Hey Bruce, I'm curious - how much are they charging you for new glass up your way? I've got the same type of wiper-induced scratches too, fortunately no where near as bad as yours :( .

i think this thought is in conjunction to the long retarded thread about headlight polishing.. but heres a try, what about motorcycle windshield polish? doesn't that shit work any? i know it's a glass polish, might only get out a little bit, but it's probably your best be next to a new windshield. i'm looking to have to replace mine or spend $60 bucks on something that is going to eventually crack anyway, so i'm in the same boat as far as needing a new one, good luck bruce.
