remove decals?

i have done some search, but only finding the subject of how to put the decals on... i want to get that two stripes off my car, how do i take them off? any help will be appreciated, thanks!

you're talking about the pinstripes right? if you are, i took mine off a while ago it's pretty simple. just have a blow dryer with you.

heat up the end that u wanna start peeling off. heat it up for a lil bit until and just peel it off slowly so that it comes off smoothly.

that sounds easy.... damn it, i forgot i had my car painted selant on it, will that ruin the sealant paint? for my sake, i hope not...

i dont really know about that sealant though. if u mean wax, then u just have 2 wax it again, or at least the spots underneath the pinstripes, but sealant i dunno

no problems! everything went smooth... i use dry blower a little, but not enough or long to melt the stripes... when i get the stripes off very easy and took me about 15-20 minutes... yes, 15-20 minutes, getting cut off of the stripes couple of times, it takes a little bit to get back into it and pick it off. the area of the stripes was sticky and still, so i wash my car, and use WD-40 and knock out the sticky stuff... and wash my car again, dry it, wax it on, wax it off.... and i'm done. OH LOOKS BETTER!!! I'll post pics up soon.. i'm pretty happy with my car just like that. :D

pardon me, i meant "pinstripes", not "stripes"... :D

great! i'm glad u were able 2 take em off. i felt great after i took mine off, it makes it look real different w/o those stripes ruining it lol

emblem removals

along this line, how do you go about removing the emblem from the rear door without damaging the paint.. is it the same theory with the hairdryer?

umm i think it's the same, but i think there might be a hole left after u take out the emblem. go search for another thread, im sure the rear emblem removal has been talked about before.

i dont think they are painted, im almost positive that they're a sticker/decal

98zoomzoom, unless I'm mistaken, pinstripes are put on by the dealer. I don't think they're ever put on from the factory. So I guess it would depend on what the particular dealer had done, but I'm pretty sure they're usually just a decal/sticker. If it is paint, I don't see how you could get it off.
