Rear speaker clearance problem!!!

Hey, Ive had a set of infinity kappas (6.5 in front doors, 5x7 in rear) for almost a year now. My older subs started having some problems so i reconfigured the sound and now with the bass up higher in the rear speakers, they are hitting the cage part of the door panel!!! Its making a nasty banging sound, and im not sure what to do about it other than keep the bass down in the rear or set the sound to the front. (Neither of which id like to continue doing.)

Anyone else had this problem? If not, anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

FIrst off I'd assume it's 6.5's in the rear doors. and Yes I know exactly what your problem is. there's plastic "rings" that extend back from your door panels. Infinity's especially with their "plus sized" cones will hit this ring with any form of excursion. (and un-crossed, amped kappas will move alot, it's impressive, really) anyway. there are 2 options. 1 trim the ring. 2. switch to 5-1/4's I personally went back to my factory speakers as I only use them for a mild bit of midrange fill (they're perfectly suited to this duty)

Oh, and for the record, this is an unfortunately kinda deserted forum. Was down for a couple of months, then came back, but never really caught up with most of it's old regulars. If you've got Q"s there's alot more active users (knowledgeable ones at that) over at protege5.com
