I am looking for a custom look to a 3rd Gen Pro tail-light, but I dont want the clear 'Euro' look. Any suggestions?

I would suggest tinting them like this. If you want you can go a step further with vinly:

the msp's tail lights have a pink tint on the turn signal stripe area

With the vinyl strip of the orange Pro, does it cover the back-up lights? Is there a problem legally with that?

No. The strip will just cover the bottom part. The white reverse part was just tinted.

I'm not to sure if there are any stores that have them, but I have seen some on magazine and online (such as Summit Racing and JC Whitney). I think you can get it at your local auto store i.e Auto Zone or Pep Boys, but I'm not to sure.
One brand of tinting spray that I know of is 'Nite Shades'. If you ask for tinting spray(red) , they may know.
I've read that if you do tint, it is better to tint the inside of the lights rather than the outside. Tinting the outside may not look as good or as professional.

A few ppl have done it up here and since the search isn't working, you should probably start a thread asking about tinting lights.

Here are a few site I found.

Nite Shades

More VHT stuff

Summit Racing

Yeah, looks good. You wouldnt by any chance know a place where they show how the tail lights are removed? I've had problems so far.

Start from the 9th post

This is for the headlights, but it should be the same. You can also try a search on www.msprotege.com

It has been rumored that unlike your headlights, your "OEM" taillights may shrink. If I were you, I would get a taillight from a recked protege and try it first.

How about any of these?

And this one

I kinda love carbon fiber, so that will always look good to me. The red ones are okay, but I think they will only look good on a red car. All the rest are pretty ugly to me.

Ah maaan...the first two are sooo nice. I can't decide. ANybody with pics on their car with the first one?

redrims April-25th-2003 12:00 PM

I don't anyone on the forum has the first ones as yet.

I really want to see how they look too, especially on a red or blk pro. I bet it'll look sweet.

I like the eurotails that are red (the first one) but I have a black car and I dont think it will look good. The CF ones would look best on my metallick black right? The euros would look GREAT on a red pro though IMO

pro00 April-26th-2003 10:13 AM

I really like the First one
i don't Know how it will look on a silver
protege. I don't want it to look gehtto or something
I want it clean, yet stand out from the rest
What do you guys think

^CL4RK^ April-26th-2003 02:11 PM

I like the first ones too. I think it'll look better than than the silvers b/c it breaks up the monotony of all silver throughout. Maybe the red with the strip of silver on the bottom may work better tho. Hmm...

pro00 April-26th-2003 02:31 PM

they really need to come with something unique for the protege
because it is the same more or less for everykind

I am getting irritated because it is such an easy mod appearence you could do and yet, I like one , but not very much.

hmmm. we have to wait and see
