Power Antenna Wire on Metra Wireharness

Hey Guys, I got the Metra wireharness for the p5 and finally got all the wires soldered and heat shrinkwrapped. The job looks so much better than my prev jobs using those damn crimpers and those metal tube thingies. I connect all of the wires however realized that the p5 does not have a power antenna! Do I need the blue power antenna wire connected? If I leave it there will it cause any problems with my car or my new deck! Thanks! I searched the forums and there is not much on the power antenna wire. Some say it is a amplied antenne and this wire powers it? Thanks!

just make sure there is no bare wire ,shrink the end of the ant. wire end.no problems with this wire being left unused.Dose your hu have a remote on for amps? some guys have used it for a remote on(not me but....)
Yes the ant.lead triggers a power ant if you had one.

yes do not let the blue wire short out on anything.. electrical tape the end and it will do fine. useing heat shrink for that wire is kind of a waste (it will work though). heat shrink is very expensive compared to electrical tape. in the future you may want to add subs or an amp for your speakers so you will need that ant. wire later on.

before I could truely answer your question....I would need to seep the pin out for the deck you are using.......seeing as how the stock harness HAS an aux power wire in it... and I am not sure if you are talking about an EXTRA wire...or just one that is tagged as a power antena wire...which would act just like an AUX POWER wire...and would only be hot when the Head unit is on.....

Thanks guys for the help
My hu is a kenwood mp819. I assume i don't need this wire connected as I have no amps nor power antenae. If I disconnect the battery for the install. will i lose the security code on my remote door locks ? The wire in question is marked antenna control. My Hu harness has it and the metra. If I leave it connected will it cause any problems?

Thanks guys I got the HU installed and it looks sweet. The only thing is I was so excited I forgot to unconnect the antenna power control wire. Is there any problems leaving it connected? I assume since we do not have a power anteanna there is not a pin to connect it to anything in the stock p5 wiring harness? Thanks!
