Powder Coat, anyone?
I am getting into powdercoating and was wondering if anyone would be intrested in having parts done. I don't know what I will charge, but it won't cost much. The only thing will be the shipping to and fro. PM or post here.

could u powder coat my rims black?
|
Yes, would you want a gloss black or Flat Black? You would have ship them to me.
|
gloss black...how much would u charge?
how much would u charge to refinish them in silver, cuz the car was i work at has these chemicals that have like eaten the fucking finish |
How well does the powder coat process withstand heat? I'm considering the AWR header and thought powder painting it would be a neat way to go. Are you able to use different types of powder paint that would have the ability to withstand the heat generated by the header?

I am not sure on how much I will charge yet. I will let you know in a couple of days. I can get almost every color you might want. It should cost the same as long as you are paying the shipping. Tornado There are powder paints that withstand high heats, but not very many colors to choose from. The Powder gets baked on to what ever part at 400 degrees for 10 mins or 350 for 15 mins. So it takes heat to apply it. |

$75 for all four?
Thats great for a refinish so youll scrub the old paint off and put the new stuff on all 4, right. I messed up a few of my wheels and thats lookin good to me. |
I will blast them in our blast both, then recoat them, and then clear coat them 75 is the price, does not include shipping

The color started as red. I added some sun orange to give it a nice effect. This is just one of many things I can do, if anyone is intrested PM or email me. |
I just wanted to post another example.

can any of you guys axplan the whole powdercoat thing a little better. What kinda parts can get painted? why is it called powder paint? you know shit like that
|
It's called Powder paint because that's exactly what it is. It's a very fine powder that's sprayed onto the item to be painted, then baked at a very high temperature, forming a strong, durable coating.
|
Yes its very fine powder. The powder is + charged in the spray gun, and the part is - charged. When the powder leaves the gun it is attracted to the part. Once that part is done, you have to stick the part in the oven at 350 to 400 degrees for 10 to 20 mins depending on the size of the part. The only things that can be coated is metal objects. If its a high temp (ie. headers) it has to be done with high temap powder, and there are not many colors to choose from.
