Possible Lexus Is 300 Mod

I am looking into getting a body shop put in the round trunk lights that the IS 300 has. Does anyone have a rough idea of how much this would cost. Here is a fast picture i made up of my protege. I just added the clear tails with the red on the sides on Sunday, so keep that in mind.

what do you guys think? Has this been done?

IF its been done....I haven't seen it yet.....and I have no guess as to what it may cost....it would really depend on what all was involved with the install.....if those lights are flush mounted/recessed so that the lens is even with the lid....I bet you will find its an expensive mod.

It has been done. I saw an Accord with those lights of Lexus on its trunk and it has an Altezza on.

you'd need to switch to the Lexus IS300/Toyota Altezza style lights for it to look right as well.

Yeah I have clear tails, but they are not seen in the older pic I posted. As Sir nuke said, the most expensive part will be the circular indent around the light. I would def wanna see a pic of this on a protege.

I personally don't even like the look of the Altezza's on our cars. I'm not the biggest Altezza fan, except on the Altezza. From your posted pic, i'm not sure how great that would look. But this is all my opinion. it's totally your call in the end...

yeah the round trunk lights of the IS 300 has been done, and it seems it's becoming one of the new fads. they look nice though!

i just found a pic of one of the hondas around here that i've seen with the inner lexus lights. these are actually the GS not the IS inner lights (which are similar), but at least it gives you a chance to see what they look like.

those GS lights have more of a shape to resemble the Pro OEM lights, but i think it's really missing the plate area, too much paint there....

Why not just use surface-mounted lights? That'll definitely save on any labor - hell, you could do it yourself, just screw the lights into the trunk. Maybe hook them up to the third brake light?

I'm gonna keep a lookout for well-styled surface mount lights. Cheezy round trailer lights wouldn't look so good - but maybe some oval ones like sidemarkers?

Just a few ideas.

Then you'll need a 200+ horsepower inline 6, and analog-style gauges, and you'd be on your way to having your very own IS300. ;) ;)
