I kinda like the CF ones and the 2nd Gen one on that Nopi link, but Damn! I can think of better ways to spend $140.00!

Altezza's don't look bad on silver cars if you have to have them, but they definetely don't look great on other colours if you ask me.

Mark, check in the 'Photo Gallery' section for pics......

Johnny, keep up the good work hehehe:p

actually bro, them sideskits arnt that bad. rims are kinda fugly. altezzas have to be in carbon fiber or NONE at all!!
hehe

You can get more natural-looking side skirts from your dealer. They aren't as 'flashy' and work well with the stock styling of the car. Also, I wonder if anyone makes the Altezza lights with the grey plastic like they have in the head lights. I would like that a lot better than some fakey carbon fiber or way too shiny plastic chrome.

I agree thats why I dont like the chrome ones. They are so shiny it makes them look cheap. I would love too see what they would look like it they were gunmetal.

John will like this picture:

Thats my stance on altezzas.

I'd like clear red plastic much better than the hyper shiny chrome, but it's unavailable at the moment. I've got red film paint to spray over.

The stock lights are very nice looking and I'm keeping them freshly wrapped up in case these clear tails get shot out.

BTW, ProtegeMenace, I love this GIF regardless of whether I like Altezza lights or not!!

These are good cheap replacements (compared to expensive stocks) that in my opinion, particularly the Protege versions, don't look that bad. The ones on Civics, Eclipses, and some trucks are not as good.

I doubt you'd be flaming Altezza's if you have an IS300.

First of all, weren't Altezza lights designed for Lexus and the IS300? Next, I'm sorry but the "A Spec" (American Spec?) protege is silver like mine, and imho the chrome Altezza lights are going overboard. If it was a black car, yeah they might look good, but the CF ones look better on black I think. I would like a Gunmetal color or even a more flat silver to match my car.

Altezza is IS300 overseas. That's where we get the term "Altezza Tailamps" (Correct me guys if I'm wrong). I think Chrome looks good on a silver and CF on any darker color.

i ahve have the chorme altezzas on my midnight blue mica and imo they look great. but thats jsut me

Zeriak,
You're right, in its current state, it is overboard. The stocks are nice but a bit on the bland side. I wish they looked more angular and more jewel-like such as the ones on Volvo S60's.

Dismissing these taillights as exclusive to the design of Lexus can be misleading. They just happened to be bold enough to adopt it earlier.

The Protege's taillights were designed using a focus group many years ago even before the concept of "Altezza" tails became popular. If the focus group testings were held now, Proteges may or may not have shipped with "Altezza" tails.

As it stands, the fact that our Proteges are beautifully designed cars are undeniable. The sedans were targeted towards the more conservative set, so our taillights did not get a major revision. As it turns out, Mazda decided to make a significant change to the taillights on the latest Protege5's from the ones preceding it, because the target demographic for them are much less conservative. The taillight style on the latest Protege5's share the same design principle as the latest 2003 Corollas.

I didn't want my tails to be conservative and I don't like it's current state, way too chromy. Hopefully, touching up with a clear red film paint will tone it down, like this:

Very Good! I like those much better!!! Good Idea Dynamho! If they were like those ones I might actually buy them :D Now, to find those lights for less than $140.00 USD....

As for chrome on the Blue Mica, I bet they look nice. Chrome makes dark colors look nice, but it doesn't match silver. If I were to have black emblems on my silver Protege it might look nice. I like those gunmetal colored ones that someone on this forum did. They look good!
