Painting the Magnetic car bra?

anyone done it or plan to do it?

what type of paint would expect to use.

im not exaclty in a hurry to do it i dont even have my P5 yet, but i was just curious if its happened.

i have these visions of a black P5 with a white magnetic bra on just the hood, or a blue P5 with a silver bra.

i dunno maybe itd just look goofy.

It can be done, you can use spray paint designed for interiors that are made with vinyl and such. Be careful on the type of paint that you get and make sure to follow the procedures with prepping the bra. You could also pay a visit to the swap meet or something like that and see if any of the swappers with dash mats and bras can custom make one for you.
You could also die the bra to white if you wanted to fork out the cash.
With the paint it will still chip off.

i figured it would chip off, i think it would look kinda cool, but if it was white or silver itd prolly start looking pretty trash if it started to flake off.

i thought about maybe just seeing if mazda would do it, but given their track record with regular body paint, if i did it, some kind of spray paint wqould prolly be ther order of the day.

good idea about the swap meet though, i prolly could find someone that would make one in a color besides black. i havent seen one of the nifty magnetic ones, but i couldnt imagine that the material would be sometihng that couldnt be made from another color material.

Yeah you should be able to find a magnet for it.

that might work but then again it will probably cost you an arm and leg for the amount of dye you would have to get
if anyone trys this let me know

decals work

I realize you're probably talking about painting the bra to match your car's body color, so you might not care about this...but I've got a "Mazda" decal on my magnetic bra, and it has stuck on just fine. I have washed it, baked it in the sun (and the dryer). I have rolled it up and every other kind of thing, and it has stayed in place.

I got it from eDecals.com. They make good stuff.

well i hadnt thought about the sticker, thats a pretty good idea really.

i kinda wanted it to be diffeent than the body color, i guess since i lke the way a black hood looks on a lite color car, i figured the light color hood (or part of it) would look cool on a dark color car.

i figure if its done intentional it wont look like i screwd up my hood, and had to find that would fit, and not make my car look like a junker.

thanks for all the info though.
