Painted Calipers and Wind Splitter

4 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody!

I painted my calipers and wind splitter yesterday. Painted them both yellow. I think it came out pretty well and am happy with the results. Also, while the car was up on the stands I installed the Kartboy exhaust hangers....

So what do ya think...?

Scott.

I like the calipers - turned out very nice! (i am not so sure if i share your enthusiasm for the splitter, tho'... I prefer the carbon look me'self ;) )

Thanks. And as for the carbon look, well, I like that too, but a can of paint is cheaper! lol

Any other opinions...?

calipers look nice but i also am not really feeling the splitter

splitter yellow doesn't really fit :\\ you should'Ve gone for orange or so

doesnt look bad, but not really enough "other" yellow on the car for it to be balanced...I would've left it black, but to each his own

It looks better in person...And as for leaving it black, well I would've had to paint it, since it was all weathered and more grey then anything else. Also, it's not a huge peice, so it's nice and subtle, so it's not super ricey, but still noticable, so I like it. Thanks for being honest though!

How did you paint the calipers? High temp paint and such? About how long did it take for you to do the two pieces?

I used the G2 Caliper Paint Kit. It came in this box with everything you need. It was also a brush on so no removal of the calipers was necessary. It was pretty simple to do, just jack up the car, take off the wheels, and paint away! The kit costs like $40 or somethign around that....

i like the look. nice job on the painting! i painted my calipers blue a year ago with blue caliper spray paint and i lasted me till now...starting to chip off! only $5 for the can, but yours will most likely last longer!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm hoping it lasts a while, so I dont have to do it again.

i think it looks slick. i was just talking about painting my calipers last week. if you can give me some idea on how to do it relatively inexpensively and fast maybe i will!!!!

scotty878 July-6th-2006 10:26 PM

The kit I bought was like $40, came with everything you need. Just jack up the car, remove the wheels, mix the paint, and paint away. You can't put the wheels back on for 2 hours and your not supposed to drive for 24 hours....

where did you get your kit from?
