if it is just one 12, take off the spoiler and re-line it with a thicker pad than what mazda uses. it has a name, dunno what they call it tho. when you take it off, you'll know what i'm talking about. it should take care of most of the rattling, or you could do a little dynamat in there as well.

You can also use some good double sided tape to pad the spoiler down.

actually, i think that's what i used...no, it was sticky on one side, padded on the other. whatever it is it's thicker than the mazda one. :p

I've had no problems with my ported 11" sub firing backwards. Granted, mine is an SQ system so it my not get as loud as other setups but maxed out standing outside, sounds pretty sealed & solid to me.

would that be a focal sub?

when i get more $$$, i plan on getting these subs:
focal utopia, adire brahma (w/jbl 1000.1 amp), and the beyond audio inhuman.

brycer, did you get the rattling fixed?

would that be a focal sub?
Yup :D

Personally, I wouldn't mind hearing a Phase Linear Alliante for pure SQ or a W7 for SQL. Brahma's are supposed to be pretty impressive too.

Take off the spoiler and use thicker foam tape or double sided moulding tape. I work at an Autobody shop, so go to any shop near you and they will probably give you some for free!!!:)

that was it! ha ha, i had an extended brain fart and couldn't think of "foam tape". that's what i did, and it worked for one 12, but not for two 12's...

couldn't think of the word "foam tape"...holy crap i'm getting old. :p

Wow the air in Oregon must be different or sumthin. Cause I have 146.2 db setup and the only rattle I ever got was from my license plate which was easily silenced. Guess I'm lucky with the spoiler so far.....
