P5 grill painting?

I dunno I searched for this, but didn't really find anything like this. You know how there are those pop-in mesh grill thingies that you put in your bumper and shit to cover up the black mesh. Well has anyone, or would it be possible, to pop those black mesh things out, and paint em a silverish/grey color? I would really like to do this rather than pay for some mesh and scrtach my shit. I'm not too much into kits and what not, I like the stock mesh, I just want it a different color. So if its possible, what kinda paint would you recommend, and what prepe work should I do to the mesh. Thanks for any input.

sure you could...the stock grills are plastic...so you could use just about any kind of paint....they would be a bitch to paint though...but you could if you take your time....since they have all those deep daimond shapes....just getting really good coverage would take some time so that none of the black showed.

might look cool painting them both BRIGHT YELLOW to match the cars...hmmmmm might have to SHOPPE one to see how that would look :{D

Yeah cool thanks. I did my car up in Fireworks, and I think it looks pretty fresh. I'm fitting to head to the store right now, and get my paint on. I'll post some pics when I get done.

I painted mine. They pop out pretty easily. Not terribly happy with the color though- I chose a dark grey metallic, but it turned out to be too dark. You almost can't tell its even painted! I'll post some pix later

painting the grill is a good idea, I wanted the mesh inserts too, but I don.t want to scratch the bumper

Well I did it today, I think it looks pretty good. I used some kind of metallic aluminum paint, and it turned out OK. Matches my wheels pretty good. I only screwed one thing up, I got a little too aggressive popping the lower piece out, and snapped one of the connector tabs. But, ahhh a little epoxy later and that tab was just as good as new. One of the best $2.49 mods I ever done.
