The best place to look for a hole is on the driver side. You will find many holes, but you have to remember that there is a layer of rubber and then a layer of foam like material that covers the firewall inside the passenger compartment. So you have to look behind the layers of material. Almost all pre-drilled holes are marked into the layers of rubber by a cutout. So find a cutout, you'll find a hole behind it.

I found a plastic bracket that snapped into the firewall. I removed the bracket and drilled a hole in it. The bracket was right behind the car battery; I had to remove the battery to get to the bracket. Look at this picture; the first picture is the bracket without the hole.

do you have an auto or standard? autos are great, cause you have a huge hole where the clutch pedal would go;) if you have a standard, the easiest way is through the rubber boot on the passenger side firewall. i'll see if i can post a pic later. there's a boot with a crap load of wires going into the car, and you can punch a hole in the rubber with a screwdriver, and feed the wire through it:D

You can use this same grommet if you have a standard, although it will be more work than f you have an auto. I used it with my P5 (standard), and I ran a 4 gauge wire through it without any issues. This location is pretty good because it's a nice route to the battery from there (short and relatively straight).

that's good to know. i have (2) 4 guage cables, (2) 8 guage, and probably 5 or 6 18 guage wires going through mine:D it's the same one in mykg4orce's diagram. it's a white plastic piece. can't miss it, and there is nothing behind it. also it can be removed and drilled very easily. course i just took it out and left it out:rolleyes:

Hey Blu,

I wasn't aware that you were using that hole. I will have to have a look and see if that is the same one as what I used. I used the hole where the clutch cylinder piston goes through the firewall, and I assumed that it was the same one, now I'm not too sure. There is in my case then, a big hole with a black rubber grommet, and the clutch piston going throigh. But there is still room for a 4 gauge wire.

I hope I didn't lead anyone astray here :(
