Like them? hate them?
I was looking at the factory ones for a good fit, but they are $80.00 a set! |

Mud Flaps!!!
Actually, I paid just a little over $60 for the factory ones for my 2002 DX, and that is including shipped (from Texas). And I live here in PR!!! :D
|
i ordered some from mazdastuff.com, they were around 70.00 shipped. they fit great, look good and protect the paint. a good buy. more expensive than the generic fit type, but worth it.

I only like oem true-fit guards - not many aftermarket ones look as good. Unfortunately, I can't find anything for 1st gen Pros.

I'm thinking about taking mine off and see how it looks...

I think they look better with OEM mudflaps....
some aftermarket mudflap look good, but not many. I dunno the car just seems to look more WHOLE with mudflaps....and without them it doesn't seem complete....but not many people notice the mudflaps I got the mudflaps with the Touring Package deal and now one of mine is holding on by a screw....gonna get more screws to tie it down again |
Totally agree Vagabond, mud flaps really add that finishing look to the car, and they serve a function as well. Of course, if the oem flaps look stupid then that wouldn't work. The ones on my '00 Accord look great, but OTOH the ones for my '01 MPV van look awful on the other vans I've seen, so I won't put them on. But, like anything in the looks department, it's all subjective. Speaking of trucks, the aftermarket ones on the back of my car are huge and gay looking, so I know what you mean foxy - in fact, I think I'm gonna go take them off today!
Darryl, I know that I can get the oem front flaps from the dealer, and they're like $50 a piece (ouch!). My original oem fronts are shot and so faded they're white. The local Mazda dealer here can't find rear oem flaps for my car, he saws they only made the rock guards for the front of the wheel wells (which I have). When I was on your website looking at pics of your Pro, I noticed the ones on the back look like they say "Mazda" on the bottom. I've also seen these once driving around town on another Pro - are these the oem rear flaps? I've heard they are very rare and hard to find new or in good condition. If you know where I can find some, I'm extremely interested. Help a brother out man!! |
i dunno bout mudflaps, i don't really like them. i dont have them on my pro. but, i'd only want them to stop the mud n dirt comin up on the paint, but that's the only reason. i dont really like the way they look. just my opinion. . . plus i think u cant put the MP3 sideskirts if u have them, please correct me if im wrong

I got them and I think they are very nice looking. Plus they keep some mud off the car. I paid 80 bucks for them. I should have payed less but I was sick of being at the dealership and I had already talked them down to 80 from 100.

My car came with them(stock), I'm thinking about taking them off and see how it looks.
edit: oops, I forgot I had already posted in this thread, sorry :bonk: |
Yes, my flaps, both front and rear are OEM and i got them from the dealer, mind you this was back in 90-91...think i paid $45 for the rear set, i also got a 2pc OEM bra at the same time for like $85.
i'd hit all the wrecking yards within a 20 mile distance bro! you could buy a few extra sets ;) for the $100 they want now. |
