Anybody have the New P5 tweeters installed or ordered?
Has anyone ordered and installed a set of tweetrs (ME)from the 2003 P5 and put them into there earlier P5? How do they sound?:withstupi

I have the new tweeters since I bought the 2002.5 P5. They aren't all that good. From hearing the P5 without the stock tweeters, they are an improvement. They raise the sound stage higher. But if you want tweeters, you are better off getting aftermarket tweeters.

where are the tweeters placed in the 2002.5?
|
why would you want to get those? it would be like buying some of those kenwood speakers mazda sells, get a set of aftermarket components and buy the tweeter covers from the 2002.5 P5.

the tweeters in the 2002.5 are located right next to the side mirrors. They are flush and look clean. If you could buy them from Mazda, I would def. do that. But don't get the mazda tweeters, get some good aftermarket ones. Hope that helps.

Thanks MSIQBAL. (What the hell does that mean anyways???) lol! Anyway, I think your right. I just might do that. I want a clean stock look and if I want, which I will probably do, replace the tweeters. I just want a little more sound if I add a sub. More full. That's what I like.

It's very addicting...
After you get some components, youll want a sub, for the sub you need an amp, then youll realize that the HU is a POS and that you need an aftermarket one....it never stops :D .
I love car audio :wee: |
I am def. with u on the clean and stock look. For now I am sticking with the stock HU and using RCA converters for the two amps. I can't find a HU that I think would look good with the P5. Once I do, I will replace it too but until then I am using the RCA converters.
As far as the tweeters but a good component set instead. It will give u the fuller sound u are looking for. But JAC is right... first the components, then rear speakers, then amps, and subs, an aftermarket HU..... :-) You won't find any good 5x7 components... so I would suggest getting an adapter to make the mounting 6 1/2 and then buy a good 6 1/2 component set. Some good brands which aren't too expensive are - MB Quart Discus series, Phoenix Gold Tantrum, Infiniti Kappa, FUSION... |

I love car audio :wee: Lucky for me, it only took three different sets of front speakers, 4 different amps, and 3 different subs to find something I am happy with. Now I just have to build a better sub box and I will be all set for a good long time. ~HH |

^^ you're on the $$$ dude! ^^
