Neon Lights In Winter?
Sorry to post another neon light question, but is it safe to have my undercar kit on the car during the winter? The tubes themselves are surrounded by a plexiglas casing to keep rock chips, etc. at bay, but (even thrugh they don't generate heat) I'm still worried about possibly cracking the inner glass tubes during the winter months. I park in a heated garage, and I've seen my windshield split because of the difference in temperature, but should my neons be safe? Even if I don't turn them on, if I'm parked at work in -30* and snow for 4 hours, then go home to a heated garage, there's a risk of cracking, but is it worth it to take them right off? How durable are the tubes? I have a buddy with a 2000 Stang that kept his on over winter. (Mind you his car wasn't even started for 2 months - it's only an inch off the ground! ) His turned out fine.
Has anyone else out there kept their neons on over the winter? If so, what should I do as far as protective measures? Thanks for any help! :D |
