Need Help

Hi, this is the first time posting in here ( audio ). I have a bit of a dillema, and I'd like some advice from you audio gurus :D

BTW, I have a '90 323

I have a Pioneer DEH-P3000 player ( an oldy, but I love it ) and 2 kenwood 6.5s ( 3 way ), and 2 pairs ( long story ) of kenwood 6x9 ( 4 ways ). I only have 1 pair in my car, mind you. They are really nice speakers, but I can't find anywhere to mount the 6x9s...... I also have a 15" solobaric that isn't hooked up, because my amp doesn't work. So, here is what I'm thinking....

Scenario #1....

Sell both pairs of 6x9s ( one new, one used ) and buy another pair of 6.5s and mount them where the old ones were in the back. So then I'd have 4 6.5s... Then I want to buy a Kenwood 4 channel amp to match the speakers, and get a punch 360.2 amp for the 15" which i'll be building a custom enclosure for.

Scenario #2....

Same thing as above, but sell the 15", and buy two 12s instead.

I'm going to at least see what the 15 sounds like before I'd go and sell it.

What does everyone think? Thanks!!!

just curious, are you going for sq or spl? personally, i think 15's are a bit much for smaller imports, but that's just my opinon. i'm sure your solo will thump...

my suggestion: sell the 6x9's, buy a pair of 6.5 components (instead of banging 4 coaxials) and run them with your already installed coax's. separate your highs a bit and let your 15 do the rest.

but i'm sure someone else can come up with a better idea. btw, how much you wanna spend on your sounds?

Well, once I start getting some money, I won't mind spending a little more, but the stereo is definately not going to be my primary focus for my car. I just want something that sounds good, and has some nice, clear bass.

What did you mean by sq or spl? If sq = square, I already have the sub, it's just lying around. It's the older circular solobaric.

I dont' really know much about car audio, but I was going to seperate the highs and lows by using the crossovers on the amps. You know what I mean? Sorry, I'm pretty much a audio-newbie.

coolness!

sq= sound quality, more detailed bass
spl= sound pressure level, "loudness"

your 6.5's are already installed in the rear? well, if you can, put those in the back and run some components up front. by using 6.5 components (separates) you can split the highs and lows in your front (your tweeters). if you sell the 2 pair of 6x9's, you should have no trouble at all with the comps and installation.

or go with your scenario #1...altho that sounds a bit serious for your stereo not being the primary focus... ;) upgrading your sounds can get addicting, so if you set a budget be sure to stick to it! :)
