from what I've seen most decent componant speakers will set you back over $200 in a 6.5" size. You'll be seriously limited on your amp choices. I think I'd save up a little more and do it right the first time.

componants are the way to go (IMO).

Heres my set up.

Alpine type s's in front (its really hard to beat the bang for the buck with them)
Amped with a kenwood amp 4 channel

Then I have pioneer 2 ways for the back, nice filler.
Amped with a jbl amp.

Then I have 2 orion 10's with a us acoustics amp (by far the best bang for the buck amp around, highly recomended by everyone for the power and clarity) Ive tried alot and these hit harder and louder then any of my old 12's.

A big thing is to amp the fronts this made some of the biggest diffrences. It allowed me to run alot louder and clearer. Do not use headunit power its really crappy and will probbuly just shead the speakers.
Components are really good and hard to beat. If you really want some coaxials because there easier. Go with a set that have the svivel tweeter like the alpines or infinities.

You can buy the stock tweeter's this would give you a nice place to mount an aftermarket set.
If you go with the components, and there highly recomended. I recomend getting a four channel amp and amping the tweeters and speakers seperetly, this gives you the ability to fine tune everything.

Again infinity reference or kappa series are highly recomended as well as the alpine type s's be warned dont spring for the type r's alot of people think the type r's sound like crap unless properly tuned. BUt have good potential. The alpines make great bass and highes however these completly over shaddow the midrange so im looking for possibly a dedicated midbass driver for the rear doors.

we can use 6x8s or 5x7's stock. However the 6.5's sound a bit better youll need an adapter plate for it.
