MP3 Steering Wheel?
 

i really dig the MP3 steering wheel, the same wheel as the MP5 but gray middle...i wrote mazda about getting a custom steering wheel like the MP3, but instead of grey, red to match my car...we will see what they say, and how much they charge...we will see, they will probably say some absurd amount...but if anyone is interested i will let you know what they say....

I really want the Nardi steering wheel that comes stock on the MP3 and Protege 5. I've heard Mazda is going to use it on all 2002 Proteges. Anyone know if that is true? If so, It might not be too expensive to buy from the dealer. Has anyone gotten a price from the dealer for this steering wheel?

they said some dumb shit like we do not reccomend using an MP3 wheel on your MP5...so i said well what about making me a custom one for my MP5......we will see again

so can you get an MP3 steering wheel from mazda for your MP5. the answer is no...oh well on that one

Mazda doesn't make the steering wheel, and they won't do any custom parts. Try contacting Nardi, they make the steering wheel anyway.

Well if you replace your Pro5 sterring wheel with the MP3 one, you're looking at a pretty hefty price tag. You've got to buy the airbag and all and those get up there in price.

i knew about the airbag replacement...and that sucks but i am prepared to pay that, but thanks eric for that info, i did not know that...thanks

No sweat. About the airbag, shouldn't they be the same between the two steering wheels?

Yeah they should, but you still have to PAY for the entire setup. You could sell your steering with the airbag once it's off. No clue as to how much you'd get but I do know they are hot for some reason on the black market.

If anyone wants to sell either version of the Nardi steering wheel, let me know. I'd like one for my '00 ES.

i've heard the same thing, and i'm almost positive that it's true.

the 2002 protege ES uses that wheel for sure.

If Nardi is going to produce that many of these steering wheels for Mazda, I wonder how much they would cost from Mazda, or if they can be purchased from Nardi?

I'm pretty sure Mazda will RAPE you for any OEM parts for the new Pro's. I have a good salesman buddy down in VA Beach, I'll give him a call in the morning.
