MP3 Side Marker Install

Help! I just bought the amber oval MP3/Tribute side markers for my Protege ES from Mazda (part #: B01W-51-120) and took a look at how they would fit into the fender. It seems like drilling a hole is not sufficient and I would actually need an oval or rectangular cut-out in my fender (the word "Dremel" comes to mind).

Has anybody installed this side marker on their Protege? Can somebody tell me how to do it please?

Thanks in advance!

What is needed is someone with aMP3 willing to make a template of the sidemarker hole in the front fender. In order to do this you need to undo the bolts that hold the inner plastic fender liner in . then you can pop out the sidemarker light . Disconnect the bulb harness and remove the light assembly . From here put a thin piece of cardboard behind the hole and trace the hole . Then scan the traced outline and dont reduce it .Post it so others can download it . This way everyone who want to do this mod has the right size hole for the sidemarkers .
I want to do this mod aswell . I have the lights just need the template of the hole.
Would some one be willing to go to all the effort for the few of us that want to use stock Mazda sidemarker lights . Malcolm

MP3 Side Marker Template Please

Macklum, that's exactly what we need! Any MP3 owners out there willing to pop out their side markers and do as Macklum suggested. It would greatly appreciated!

Otherwise, I'm gonna go see a body shop tomorrow and let them figure out if they can dremel an oval hole into my fender.

It doesn't even have to be an MP3 owner... all 2003 protege's have side marker lights

On a side note.....do NOT take the image off the screen that is posted and believe that its EXACTLY the right size...for no matter if the image is resized or not....the size that it is displayed on YOUR monitor will change with the resolution that you have your monitor set for....

so save the image if anyone puts one up...and then YOU may need to adjust its actual print size to make it just right....

what would help is after someone traces it....to MEASURE IT and include the deminsions with the drawing.

Ok, anybody with an MP3, 2003 Protege, or Tribute willing to trace the hole behind their oval side marker? I believe they are all the same size. I know the Tribute and MP3 share the exact same amber side marker.

Thanks in advance to anyone who's willing to help us sidemarker-less people out!
