Mount amp in trunk

I want to put my amp on top of the spare with a piece of wood, just under the carpet, is it a good place ? I've heard about vent and humidity that can build up there ?

You don't want to put it under the carpet, unless you are going to run fans to keep it cool. Above the carpet, yes, but you will lose the ability of the flat surface. Why not mount under the Front seats?

i had a bad experience with this place so i want to put them in the trunk, but i will put the carpet only when i will have some stuff to carrier, otherwise i will remove the carpet.

here is my "problem"

i have 3 amps

1 for my front speakers
1 for my rear speakers
and 1 for my sub

i want the trunk free (baby things, grocery etc ..) and i don't want to put the amps under the seats, anyone have an idea ? can i have 1 amp for everything ? and still can do fading and balance my sound ?

Although I did give up the spare tire.

Nice set up there! I too am thinking of going with one 12 instead of running both of my 12's in my sedan.

I have seen people mount amps behind their seats. I figured the fold down seats aren't very useful for me, so I built an amp rack which will mount behind the seat. I probably will have amps facing the trunk for best ventillilation, but they would do fine facing the rear seats. I would just have to put them down if listening to them loud for a long time (as in my Eclipse). I have two amps and a stiffening cap mounted on it. How many amps are do you have? The two amps I have fit nicely. Some people also place it on the rear of their box, but I want to be able to remove my box if I need more trunk space. Lastly. I didn't want to block spare tire with a big box. Although I may never need it (knock on wood), knowing my luck if I did have a large box back there, I would run over a nail or something.

Lastly, you may have room on the underside of the rear deck, although heat wouldn't be able to dissipate as well. If you listen to your music loud or even at moderate levels, it may cause it to overheat. Not sure though, but I just heard this from some one here or at SoundDomain.

i have two amps and i just mounted them both on top of my sub box...that way they dont use up anymore room and they have enough room to breathe
