moonroof question
has anyone on here modded their moonroof to open one touch, like the driver side window? or could someone explain how this might be accomplished, or how capable or incapable this trick might be.
thanks brian |
I have try to figure out the opposite, how to close it one touch (I mean using alarm output)
I found that for closing and opening purpose, the button will stop sending voltage to motor when the moonroof is at it's position. So you can probably use an electronic timer to time the time it takes to open and send ground or voltage (the same as the switch) the delay you have calculated ... In fact to close it I will push both button at the same time ... this will close the moonroof even if it's tilted or slided. Good luck, and Follow up if you get it working ... MageMinds |
i havent started tinkering with it yet, wanted to hopefully get some input first. i think i will round up my electrical inclined buddys this weekend before they start drinkin of course and get cracken.
i would also like the option you want to. thought opening would be the first part i would want first, that way i iwouldnt have to hold the button(not like 4 seconds is long). just want to get in hit the button and go. so have you tried the timing thing? i just thought of ridding of the current switches and rewiring them with all together with new ones from a newer luxury car. i dont know for sure but i a guy i work with mentioned that the new caddilacs have that feature. and menace i would be happy to use that pic as my new sig, but i dont know how to crop it. or if you already did it for me, i guess i'll find out when i post this. i will inform those interested in my progress if we get lucky on the moonroof, this would be a really nice option to have. |
I think the 2002 Millennias had that option, and the switches look exactly the same. Try getting your hands on those. Or maybe there's another "module" somewhere?
