what can I put on the black door molding to make it shine but run off on the door when driving? Armour All doesn.t shine enough. Finish 2001 is too greasy any suggestions?

yea as said above take it off, i did (see my pic below) but if you wanna keep it, black shoe polish i hear will do a good job

Mother's Back To Black will do a pretty good job. My moldings are all faded and that's what I use. You have to coat them down really well with 2-3 applications, but after that they're nice and black. It has more of a matte finish rather than a shine, but it doesn't run near as much as the other products. I do find that I have to repeat the applications about once a month though. If your moldings aren't faded and you just want them to shine, then I dunno. I use Lexol Vinylex on the interior, never tried it outside yet. It might be good. Dont' use Armor All, it just sucks - period.

if you want to keep it go to a paint & body shop & paint the whole car

I think I'm going to take mine off and paint them. There's no need to paint the whole car in my case; it's in good shape. I'll put it back on with some 3M VHB tape and you'll have to pry that crap off with a crowbar! JMO but I think the Pro's look better with the molding because you already have the body line for them in the doors. It looks like something's missing without them.

Yeah i was gonna take mine off when i painted my car, well i did to paint them, but it just looks stupid i think without 'em. So i was gonna bondo it but it would crack. I guess you could use fiberglass and it'd be okay. I think that'll crack off also, maybe not we don't use it that much.

Black chrome works good, gives you a deep black glossy look that lasts for 3-4 months. i bought it at pep boys.

We used "Forever Black" on the black plastic trim on my wife's Jeep. Worked pretty well - hers was rather faded and gray, and it brought it back to black nicely.

It's a dye, so it penetrates the surface. Follow the instructions and you should do okay.

Won't last forver (some of hers has flaked off here and there), but it lasted over six months, and is still going. Her Cherokee has LARGE areas of black trim (complete fender flares, body molding - MUCH more than any Pro) and it has only wore off in a few very small spots.
