Mazda 3 Front Door Speakers...

Just got my Mazda 3 5 door. The front speakers look like they are components.
If I got a set of after market component speakers, will I need to find and replace the crossovers, or can I use the existing ones and just replace the speaker pieces?

If I need to find them, anyone know where they are?

you should be able to just put the new speakers in, HOWEVER!!! I strongly suggest replacing them... more than likely the aftermarket crossovers are better adapted for the component speakers with which they came... better crossovers=better sound... (at least more balanced)

they are behind your door panel in a gap in the door somewhere...

the OEM crossovers are typically a resistor in the wire. it blocks a low-level frequency from reaching the tweeter and takes the path to the woofer. using the crossovers that come with your component set up will yield superior results, they will filter the frequencies much more efficiently and produce a much better sound.

BTW the stock 'crossover' it's a capacitor in series with the tweeter that blocks low frequencies. you can look up bass blockers to get an idea on that.
Just verify the speaker depth you can use before hitting the window.
