map lights - modified!
 

check it out! i wanted to show what red map lights look like. i think they add a cool atmosphere at night, adds sort of a klingon warship feel to the car. (pictures taken durring the day)

Is that just red bulbs or did you do something to the cover... looks pretty sharp!! :cool:

red bulbs. i wanted it to look stock untill you hit the button. i get lots of complements on it, and it only cost me $1.50 LOL!:p

What size bulbs go into the map light. I want to order bulbs before I pull it apart.

you can get them from wally-world, autozone, pep boys, napa, etc. if you order them, you will spend more on shipping than the bulbs are worth.

Was it trivial to get the covers off?? I'd imagine they just pop off eh?

mine just popped right off.

Nice! A mod I actually like! Hmm... might have to give that one a try as the red light would be better on the eyes at night also!

well, becasue the red glass of the bulbs reduces some of the light output, it is a little harder to read maps and such, but the effect is cool. :cool:

Nice, I like the mod...it's the subtle things that count. How close do those light match the amber of the interior lights?

That's fresh. Are there any other colors avaiable where you got thsoe red ones?

they have blacklight bulbs that would fit there right?? that'd b really kool:D

Humm, I never have those lights on though. What would be even cooler would be to put a red bulb in the main overhead light housing...the one that comes on when you unlock the car, turn the key off, or open the door. You'd see that every day :)

has anyone seen blacklights bulbs for this ??

is the lightbulb the same size for the non-moonroof P5? My dome and map lights are an all in one combo type thing. and do they make blacklights that small?
