Malfunctioning CD player

My 98 Protege's CD player won't read CDs properly. It won't read my burnt ones at all and it'll only play Track 1 of the one legit CD I own. I ran my neighbour's lens cleaner disc once and that is what got it from complete inoperation to its current status. What do you guys think is wrong? I'd be surprised if it can't read burnt CDs at all, after all even my $60 8 year old cd player read my recently burned CDs, despite not having been able to play older burnt CDs
The only sign that the CD player isn't completely dead with a CD-R in it is that is sounds like it's trying to read. It made the same sound with the legit CD, and still takes a long time grinding to read the legit CD.
Strange thing is, it read the tracks on the cleaner CD perfectly

I have had my factory cd replaced for the same reason: it wouldt play any cds (replaced under warranty). I eventually saved up money and bought a new aftermarket cd player anyway. I would suggest to save up some money and by a nice pioneer cd player for $200.

I looked at XS Cargo and found a multi colour display, MP3 + CD, flip face deck for 88 bucks, it's made by AutoSound
The warranty is long gone on this car
Worth it?

Never heard of that company. A mp3/Wav player is a must, i think. I would go with more known brands Kenwood or Pioneer... Good luck
