washer LED

I had a 92' protege that I did this with and just switched them over to my 99 protege. I think the hood is similar on the 97' and if it is there is a flimsy insulation "board" attached to the underside of the hood with little plastic clips (about 20 of em) and you have to pop each one of those off. I would recommend leaving the very center one till last so you don't bend or break the flimsy thing. Sorry I don't know the technical name.

then once you have that off you can see the stock Washer attachments. Detach the hoses and use a pliers to squeeze the plastic post things that hold in the stock washers and push them out the top of the hood.

From there you just put in the new LED washers screw the nut on and hook up the juice lines again! Be sure to get them on there tight! then you're set to go.

Hope this helps,

Jon

PS you can put that insulation thing back on with the clips if you want, or leave it off. On my 92' it was off to begin with. My 99 I put it back on after I took it off. I'm not aware of it's purpose though.

i finaly got the shit installed. here is how i did it:
first pulled off the hoses to the winshild washer
then got nedel-nose plyers and pushed the stock washers out.
once they are out cut the medal that is covering the hole in the hood from the outside of the hole diagonaly out.
-from there on it is very easy and like every other car.

-if you have any questions about this u can im me -ironmikem90-

Lol. I have them on my car, but I wired them kinda uniquely. You might want to consider wiring them FIRST to a switch inside the car, passing the wire through a hole (prefferably an existing one with insulation) in the firewall. Then, from the switch, send more wire down to one of the corner lights. This gives you a double safeguard form accidentally leaving them on: The switch in the car allows you to turn them on/off when there might be a cop nearby (they're illegal in most states), but still keeping your lights on, and it turns them off automatically when your lights are off leaving the kill switch on. More specifically, it connects them to the switch on the stalk that turns the corner lamps on/off. You're probably going to have your lights on at night anyway and you can only see the LEDs at night as it is... So it works out well. Hope this helps anyone.
