those are the solo D series subs sweet subs i believe they are rated at around 600-750rms each. They will pound with each in a 1.5-1.75ft box sealed. Give them around 500-800 rms each and you will be very happy. Get yourself a 2ohm mono amp as it will allow you to wire them in parallel since they are 4ohm svc's. One amp i would suggest would be the jbl 1200.1 would go perfect with those.

Hey Robdoggz just wondering how ur sub sounds in that box. I've got the same sub but in a small sealed enclosure. Seems to hit loud enough for me, but nothing crazy, but damn is it clean. Just wondering if it still sounds great ported with a little extra spl?

Robdoggz March-19th-2003 10:14 PM

It actually sounds damn good but not as good as it did sealed. I had it in a 1.25ft box before off 500 watts it was good sq but not enough spl. I went with this 2.6 ft after dissplacements tuned to 27hz box for more spl wich it does damn good off 800 watts rms. I noticed it just sounds a little more boomy at around 40hz but not by much i liked the flatter response in the sealed box more. I am going to install two 12" mass in a new sealed box this weekend and throwing 1200 watts at them i just like the sound of a good sealed box although the ported one sounds good just not good enough. Sorry for the long post but i am bored lol.

hahaha, don't worry about it. I guess I'll stay sealed cause it seems to be enough for me and I care about sq. Plus, I'd like to take the least trunk space possible, I got 600 watts rms, crossfire amp.

Anyways thanks and I'll be interested in how those mass's sound.

well i have my mass now the box is not done yet but there are a few pics of the subs/box on page 3 of my home page. I have only tested the subs off 50watts rms each from my home reciever and so for it sounded very good in that box cant wait to trow 1200 to the pair.
