Keyless Entry Wiring Help
 

I'm currently in the process of attempting to wire an Ungo remote start/keyless entry system into my 2002 Pro5. As we all know, the car uses a funky wiring setup so it requires a bit of extra wiring. I'm a little inexperienced with this, so I need some help.

The company that sold me the system says that I have to buy some converter module for $19 but I'm wondering if there's a way around that.

On the wiring diagram, there's this note: "This is a one wire system, must use relays. Lock requires negative trigger through a 1.5K resistor, Unlock requires a negative trigger to the same wire"

This brings a few questions to mind: 1) Can I skip this module that the alarm co is trying to sell me and just get this resistor? 2) Where do I get this resistor? Radio Shack? 3) How exactly do I install the resistor? 4) Do I have to do the wiring at the relays in the footwell or can I tap the wires in the driver's door that lead to the switch?

you can wire your alarm through the factory keyless entry system... the system works off a negative system where depending on the voltage it sees across the wire (either 5 or 2.5 volts) it either locks or unlocks the doors. you just put the resistor inline wiht your output from your alarm ( i would advise you put in a blocking diode too) ( you might find that you need to throw in a capactor if the pulse from the alarm is not long enough to allow the door locks to work correct....most people don't recommend going through the factory modules but I did it and it works fine I have not had any problems but i would put in blocking diodes just in case to protect the modules......better safe then sorry......oh yeah if you do throw in a blocking diode i noticed that it has an effect on the resistance on the wire so you might need to decrease the resistor value to get it to work properly....i had to do that for the priority locks.

actually 19 dollars sounds like a bargain compared to what i had to spend to get the diodes and resistors and capitors to work properly......

oh yeah no matter what you do you'll still need to use relays to get it to work......I went through the factory module but i still needed to use 3 relays to get the lock, unlock and priority unlock to work properly...

I installed my Autopage Alarm system with no problems. However, I can't get the driver priority to work properly. With the disable button everything unlocks on the first press. Does anyone know how to make the priority work properly?

did you use a resistor???? I was finally able to get my priority locks to work by using a 2K UF cap and changing the resistor slightly......check are you going through the door relays or directly through the lock actuator for the drivers door?

I tapped into the factory keyless entry with a 1000 ohm resistor - that's the resistance I got from a wiring diagram to unlock all the doors. But the driver priority must require a different resistance but I don't know what value.

the resistor is only needed to allow the doors to be locked (it's not needed to unlock the doors). So it does not have any direct effect on the priority circuit. there should be two wires one to unlock/lock all the doors and one to unlock the drivers door. It doesn't matter which wire you pick to throw on the resistor since they both will lock all the doors ( you did add 3 relays right.......cause you can't do this without relays). Like I said before chances are if your priority unlock is not working then you probably need to create a longer pulse so you need to use a Capactor to allow the added relay that you included to stay open long enough. You need to add a resistor to the capactor so that you can drain off the capactor once it's charged I would advise you to check out the website www.12volt.com if your not sure how to do this..
