Ipod into '04 Mazda 3?

I know this has been on here before, but i cannot find it...
Are there inputs on the back of the 2004 Mazda 3 stock radio for an ipod? Rca inputs? Or do i need some kind of converter. I know i can get a radio link to play it over fm stations, but i want it to plug straight into the radio if possible.

There are plenty of Ipod integration kits available now that you plug straight into the back of the HU via a port.

Order this: http://www.sylfex.com/products/AuxMod/
It works amazingly well and is an easy install. Here's the guide: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbhenry/sets/1373983/
This is the absolute best way to go.

You can integrate your ipod into your radio meaning you can control the ipod using the steering wheel/stereo controls. In fact, the ipod will be disabled - I believe. It will also charge your ipod.

couple options: http://www.therpmstore.com/index.php?cPath=25 (Audio Link iPod integration kit)
I believe you can get an OEM ipod adapter.
Edit: I think the one above is pretty decent but the full integration kit (the pro kit) is still in testing.

There are more out there as well, which I can dig up if you need.
You can also just get kits that will give you a line in (a jack for you to plug in anything that will play music, not just iPod, so in otherwords anything with a headphone jack). This is cheaper but less fancy and no recharging.

has there been much advance on this topic in the last 6 months? my wife's got a mazda3 and i'd like to give her ipod capabilities.

thinking about ordering the audio link from
http://www.therpmstore.com/product_i...roducts_id=142

unless there's something better/cheaper out

or would the xcarlink be a better option? just want her to be able to use her ipod and if he can use the steering wheel controls that's even more brownie points for me

oh yea, and she does use her sirius radio, so whatever adapter i get her has to also allow for the sirius system

The ever-popular 2004 Mazda 3 Aux in issue

I own a 2004 Mazda 3 and want to run my Iphone 3G's Ipod thru my head unit. As you know, the head unit does not have an AUX in so people apparently use AuxMod boards to resolve the issue. I am looking for quality, alternatives as AuxMods have not been and don't seem to be available. I am currently running it through a Harmin-Cardin Auto Play kit via FM transmitter and the quality is unacceptable. The H-C kit does allow me to hard wire direct to the head unit, but again, having no Aux in on the head unit makes this impossible. I am open to a different kit entirely as well, because the H-C kit doesn't charge my iPhone. If there is a solution that would give me full control through my steering wheel controls and full display info on the head unit would be preferred. Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated to say the least.

I picked up the integrated ipod module from mazda for about 300. works great and installed myself. You can use the steering wheel as well. unfortunately it doesn't charge my ipod nano because mine is too new and not supported. but it does charge my video perfectly fine.

there is also a xcar link one that apparently works i wish i knew about this before i got one from the dealership.
