Installing Autoexe front lip???

Should double sided tape be used for the front lip??? I know the lip just snaps on and then 2 screws on the bottom and two on the side, will this be enough to keep it from falling???

orangealpha Apr 12, 2002 01:22 AM

Yes, i was worried about that as well. But its more than enough i have had mine on for about a week and i have only two screws in!!!:nono: It fits so well i think its nothing to worry about.

What front lip is that? What does it fit?

Protege5 Apr 12, 2002 04:49 AM

Yes
I have mine on 4 screws and a lot of double side tape

it's really tight now

orangealpha Apr 12, 2002 02:24 PM

Actually double-sided tape is not a bad idea. . .And i think ill put the other screws in. Safety first:nod: Btw how much did it cost for you guys to get the lip and grill painted? I got my lip painted for $100, matches perfectly. . .

protege5 where did you get those lip and grill man and how much? info would be gladly appreciated... thanks

Greddy917 Apr 12, 2002 05:15 PM

Veronica

Those lips and grilles are imported directly from Japan...We had a few here...but they are all sold I believe....More should be available in the coming months...call me and Ill give you the info...also there will be replicas coming out soon...most likely made out of fiberglass not Urethane. Also Mitch at Protege5online is working on getting carbon fiber replicas made...pics should also be out soon.

I know you have problems with scraping the front...these lips are very expensive...so I am not sure if you would want to run them... You will most likely incur massive scrapes/damage:doh: according to what you told me, but its your choice of course! :D

Just to wet your appetite in case you didnt know already...there is another JDM company that makes front air dams for the P5....Mintblue.

veronica1132001 Apr 12, 2002 05:22 PM

Greddy... thanks man... anywhooo wassup?

ya i talk to mintblue company they told me unfortunately they only sell this in japan and the shipping cost is more expensive than the product it self. but there's a good news they said they are trying to work in the US also maybe next month? we will see

And you know what my friend here at work knows the owner of the shop which is ARD right? what a small world

me and my friend are planning to go there maybe next week?

RODSCALIP5 Apr 12, 2002 05:24 PM

Yeah, I know about the scraping, as soon as I installed it, I scraped it, and then a few minutes later it scraped again, and I just have Eibach springs imagine people who have Ground Controls!!!!! You can check my pics in the Photo Section.

BTW Greddy can you get the sideskirts and rear bumper from Mintblue?????

Greddy917 Apr 12, 2002 07:46 PM

RodsCali...Right now we are not set up to get the skirts...but it may be a possibility in a couple months...Rishie and I will keep everyone posted of course.

The shop is Auto R&D not ARD Performance...they are a great company down south...We are Nor Cal.

Veronica...Hit me up when you and your friend decide to stop bye...Ill make sure Im there.:D
