Installing an amplifier

i guess the response of this should be posted in the How-to section, but i figured this post most belonged here....

Anyone know how to install an amp into a car?

im talking like, how to wire from an aftermarket headunit... to actually affixing the amp... to basically hooking it all up together.

basically im wondering if this sort of project is possible for the likes of someone such as myself.

bud, anything is possible, you just have to be very careful and fully understand the dynamics of what you're doing, i would gladly talk you basically what you need to do to properly run an amplifier over the phone sometime, just instant message me on aol instant messenger (demoninvictus) or just PM me with your phone number and a time to call. i'm sure somebody can post some material on here for you to read (ie some links that help you install this sort of thing). i already have learned this crap from being a noob to the whole thing, so i don't have any technical websites you can research and learn how-to do this sort of thing. funny thing is that i never read the how-to section that often, so if it's listed there, that'd be wonderful, but i just don't feel like looking. all in all, we can point you in the right direction, it's all up to you how you're going to do it RIGHT the first time, and not have to do it again. you can either go through the fuss of learning and be very rewarded, or you can shell out $50 to $100 bucks for somebody at circuit city or best buy to install your stuff... but personally, i'd rather install my stuff instead of having somebody else do it. depends bud
peace

As our friend here says, yes it is very doable, and the good regulars here will be happy to walk you through the process. I might suggest a google search on car audio amplifier install and get a little background on what you are considering, and then perhaps presenting your Protege specific questions-
Good Luck and let us all know what you choose to do!!
