install questions...
 

ok...so i'm gonna get the pioneer premier 740mp (about $230 on ebay sound good? ). but i've never installed a new HU before, so i really dunno what i'm doing. so my questions are

1 - what other parts, kits, etc do i need to install the HU into a 2002 ES?

2 - are there any detailed instructions for the installation? i saw a couple posts, but i'm talking absolute, i'm-a-moron, hold my hand type instructions since i really have no idea what's going on.

you will need a few things....ONE, a adapter kit to fit the new unit to the dash....your new unit is a single din...the stock unit is a double? right? if so you will also need a pocket to go under the new head unit to take up the space...and give you a cubby hole to stash stuff....

you will also need to get a wiring harness adapter...that way you connect the wires from your new head unit to the wiring harness...that allows you to just plug it directly into the cars harness behind the head unit with NO WIRE CUTTING...that is a good thing.

you are going to need some HU removal tools to get your deck out of the dash....but if you know of a decent shop in town that you either do business with ...or know a friend that does....most GOOD shops will allow you to borrow their stuff to yank your stock head unit out...or even do it for you for a very minimal charge...if not free...

so, you got your install kit....you have your new HU...you have the wiring harness.....you should be all set to go.
