Install new HU question mark.
 

Ok I have a question, I just bought a protege 2001 lx and I would like to put in a new HU. My question is what all do I need in order to install a new HU (replace stock cd player). So far this is what I THINK I need.


+connector kit

+wiring harness

+installation kit

This isn't necessary but I will get this

+Auxilary cable

Ok so is this all necessary? Is this what I will need to get this little guy installed or will I need more. Is the connector kit a must? The HU will be an eclipse cd3000. I hope someone answers back. My plan is to buy everything over the internets and then have a local place install it for me, or Possibly me install it. I've never done car audio crap, would it be best if I had a shop do it for me? Thanks in advance. I mines well give it a go myself and if I mess up have someone else do it.

Yep, Dash kit and wiring harness are all you will need. If you haven't done one before, let a shop do it. It's usually worth it. They will have all the parts you need there as well. And if you buy from them, they will probably give you a better price on install. I'm a firm believer that over the net sales means you'll get screwed.
