Infinity reference speaker question

Hi, I just put in the infininity reference speakers, and was wondering what size amp I can use with these and my stock stereo. The specs say, that they can handle up to 180 watts, but recommended power range says 2-60. Can I safely use a 75 X 4 channel amp? they are 5x7 and 6x9 by the way. thanks

You can use that kind of power. Just make sure you adjust the gains on your amp so that the speakers won't distort. I was looking at getting the reference 6x9's for rear fill, but am going to wait on it. I hear they play loud even on deck power (which is what they would be running off of in my case. But back to your question, as long as it's clean, your speakers should do okay off of 75 watts per channel. I am pushing my 5 1/4 components with 75 watts per channel and they play loud and clear! Happy listening.

Depends if the amp is a real 74x4 like the JL 300/4 or a POS Jensen claiming a max of 75x4.

If the amp is of good quailty and reliable stats then the speakers can handle it but it may be more power then you need to achieve your desired volumes.
