How-to on mesh grill ?

Ok guys ...
How do you guys did the mesh grill mod ? Did you put the mesh on top of the plastic grill ? I did a mesh for my top sedan grill, but not sure if I done it right ! What I did is pulled my grill off, and cutted the mesh to fit on top of it. After that I tied it with some fishing wire.

Also, is your mesh a plastic one or metal one ?
Pics could be nice too... Especially of the top grill  !

Thanks

Here's a thread that has a few pics of Negatize's car. His mesh looks very nice and the pics might be of some help to you.:)

Here's some pics of mine. http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...threadid=25397

I used aluminum gutter guard, and lashed it on with 14 gauge wire. It's painted white to match the rims.

If you're going to paint it at all, clear it too. I found that these damn Canadian winters take their toll on mesh quite easily.

Hope it helps!

What kind of paint did you use to paint it? Just regular white paint?

Is your mesh on top of the bottom grill too ? I was just wondering if the black trim around was the stock grill  !?

Tremclad automotive aluminum rust paint. It's really soft, so it doesn't chip that easily. Best part is, it was only like $10 a can!

Wingman, my mesh is on top of the stock ones, yes. The border you see I think looks nice!

OK Thanks ... It does look good :D !

I didnt think about painting before tying it :( ... maybe I should take it off and do that ! What color would look good on a silver Pro ? Maybe a bright silver or chrome color ...

Make sure you use good paint (our winters are bad) and do many coats. I'd go with a matching SUnlight Silver color for your car. It'll look nice. YOu may want to leave the middle of the emblem unmeshed like I have or else I find it gets "lost" in the mesh. It will espesially on silver.

Dang....Did you mom "tow-ball" your bumper...that is one heck of a divet in your bumper...

My friends would "tow-ball" people that they did not like in school...very mean...

I dont have any pics of the install but its pretty self explainitory:

Where did you buy your aluminum gutter guard ? I bought a mesh at a place like HomeDepot this week, but not too satisfied with the mesh... Id prefer a type like yours with larger branch !
