How many of you have the rear bumper guard?
 

How many protege5 owner have that piece of plastic on your bumper?
What do you think about it?
And do you think it worth the price? (30+ dollars)

the back trunk sill (i hope thas the right term lol) on my car is cracked in half from us loading 4x12 cabs into the cargo area

I have it and like it... it was worth the price to me. The attachement to the bumber is only using two sided trim tape, but it seems to be on there pretty good and has gotten a few scuffs on it since I added it. The nice part is that if it does get too beat I can replace it... not so easy to do with a bumber :)

I may end up adding one. Somehow I have several scratches in the center, but on the edge of the bumper. Looks like someone planted their foot, to tie their shoe, or perhaps an errant shopping cart rested against it. I wished it wraped around the front edge just a bit! I tried to polish out the scratches, but the paint is VERY thin, and it's into grey primer.:mad:

Sounds like it's a better thing to have than without.

The thing that I didn't like about the rear bumper guard. I wanted something that would protect the bumper from things like dust and concrete (when putting things in and out of the trunk). This thing only comes to about an inch from the upward fold of the trunk, and leaves a 1inch channel where all kinds of things can collect. I have another idea, but I'll let that cat out of the bag after I'm done.

I currently put this on and it has saved the bumper quite a few times. I usually do not handle concrete in my vehicle? But it does serves it purpose when you are taking or putting items in the vehicle. I would suggest getting it.

I just installed the rear bumper guard last week.

It does the job quite well. I don't mind the gap between the top edge of the guard and where the bumper curves up. Any scratches in this area is hardly noticeable with the door closed.

Installation was a snap. The spacers that come with it pretty much makes sure you install it correctly aligned.

My wife ordered that along with the cargo liner and the sunroof visor.

The bumper guard has come in handy especially after her Jetta where you would lay items on the bumper in order to open the trunk. So it's worth it to me.

I have the guard also. Well worth it for me as it keeps the dog from scratching the bumper (unless he decised to go out the side).

I'll chime in here too. I had the rear bumper guard put on the day I picked my car up from the dealer. Money well spent when lifting some particularly heavy items in and out of the hatch that I carry around from time to time. Anything that can prevent scratches in the paint and look good while doing it is okay with me.

I've seen many P5 at club meets that are scratched on the rear bumper. I have the bumper guard and the cargo tray which I also recommend. Last week a gallon bottle of water spilled in my trunk and all I had to do was take out the tray and dump it out.:) Both are well worth the cash.

i didnt have a choice, it was on the car already when i bought but it did save me a couple of times when i had big packages to ship...so i guess i can say it's worth it
