how to convert the LED to a regular 1.4w bulb?

Hi!

I plan to convert the LED of the alarm to a regular 1.4watts bulb. What are the thing I need to do ? just tap the new bulb on the existing wire of the LED ?

why?

I plan to put the bulb on the Instrument cluster, so when the car is armed, there will be a warning light blinking on the cluster, I tried putting in the LED but it is not bright enough, making it to a 1.4 bulb will make it the same with the other warning lights and will surely be bright enough.

Just go for some Varad super-LED's. They're super bright, and basically come in whatever color you want.

Here's an eBay search page that's got a bunch of auctions for them:http://search.ebay.com/search/search...rt&query=varad

I understand what you are trying to accomplish and agree that it it looks a bit more fit and trim than the LED that is half-ass mounted into the steering column cover.

The LED operates at about 1.2 volts while your 1.4w incandescent lamp operates at 12 volts +- 4volts. A super bright LED, as mentioned, may work. However, if you wanted to go for the incandescent lamp, the best method would be to use a common collector transitor setup. It requires has little current draw (optimial for very long periods of battery only operation), unlike a relay, but requires a bit of construciton, however minute.

If your interested, drop me a line.
