You're opening up a big can of worms, but it can be done.
You need to take the cupholder trim out (just pull up on it) - on the driver's side, inside the console, you'll see a wiring harness - you need to disconnect this - it is power for the O/D button and the lamp that illuminates the gear selector a night. The trim around the shifter just snaps off - takes a little muscle to pull off (like you're gonna break something) but it does come out - two pieces, the silvery part on top, and a black section underneath nearly the same size - they come out one at a time. I believe you'll have to take the bulb housing for the little illumination lamp out also - but it's just a twist-and-pull affair, no big deal. If you get the cupholder trim off, you'll start to see how this al goes together. Basically, when you pull the knob up and feel resistance, it's the O/D button wires holding the knob back. Knowing that, you should be able to get it removed - it's just a bit of a hassle to get the right pieces off so the wires thread through. Did you get a Razo knob? The one with the O/D button? I'd like to know what you got, and see some pics when you're done - being a fellow boring-ass automatic driver and all :). ~HH |

Are you using the Razo gun grip shifter? I want to get and install one of those style shifters...think they look great.
