How can I get rid of the stupid seat belt alarm beep?
 

Someone please help, I know someone else must have hated this thing too.
How can I turn of the annoying beep that comes on if you dont put on your seat belt after the car is in drive. It not that I dont want to wear my seat belt, I just hate the beep.
I have a 2005 Mazda 3i

ok, it was like this on my civic...so this will either turn the alarm off, or it'll be on non-stop....im not sure

but if you reach under the seat, there will be a connection plug coming from the seatbelt that eventually runs under the carpet. if you unplug it, it will stop it that annoying noise....at least it should....

Yea that will do it. However, it's my impression that the annoying beep is the airbag self test instead .. so I plugged mine back in once I found that out. I can deal with the beep if it'll save my life one day ..

Put your seatbelt on before you put it in 'drive'.

and im more annoyed by the 'door ajar' beep
this is especially annoying when im in auto class working on a car, and sometimes it makes the job way easier if the door is open, and that beep drives my nuts....especially the hyundia ones...

The dealership can program the beep out with there computer scanners. They will charge you though...they wanted $45 to do mine. If you look at the side of your belt buckle you will see what looks like some heat shrink tubing around two wires. There are one of two things happening here. 1)What basically happens is when the circuit is complete and ground flows thru both wire the seat belt beeps. When you snap in the belt buckle, it pushes down on a piece of metal that keeps the circuit flowing and breaks it, which stops the beep. or 2) The circuit is not complete and when you snap in the metal buckle it completes the circuit which stops the beep. Test these two wires and find out which way its working. If its the first way, you can cut the wire that loses ground when the buckle is in. The car would just see that the buckle is in all the time. If its the 2nd way, connect the two wires together, and the car will see the buckle is always in. Test the wires with a digital Mulitmeter to find out which way its functioning and go from there.
