HID Kit--Opinions?
Does anyone have HID's on their rides? What temp and what do you think about them? Any other thoughts on HID's are welcome!

i've got stock HID's - not sure, but i'd guess 5K for the temp, and they are great at night.

I have Sylvania SilverStar Ultra's and they just aren't cutting it. I've tried numerous bulbs claiming to be "HID" in comparison and they aren't. So I shelled out the $45 for the Ultra's and they are okay for about a month then they start going dim. I was thinking some 6K or 8K HID's. Maybe 12K cause I like the purple but that's pointless for functionality.

i'm suprised that bulbs would start dimming so quickly - do they darken or haze up?
Have a look at danielsternlighting they have some good writeups on benefits of HID, color temps and a lot more. You could also get some better lights (driving lights) to put in the fog lamp location, that would add a lot of illumination if needed, and be on their own switch as well. |

I have the 35w in 5k. Truely one of the best additions I made for the car. I can see much better at night. |
After buying the Ultra's I read that they have a short lifetime. I've noticed they start to darken. Granted, I drive at night mostly in the city so the light diffuses but my neighborhood has no street lamps so that's how I judge. I usually do turn on the fogs as well to help see the immediate road in front of the car. I was thinking of going to HID's for the Low Beams and changing the Fogs to an amber color for visibility for other drivers.

I just replace the stock H7 bulbs in my 2005 SP23 with an HID H7 5k, 55w. looks awesome.
