Help!!! Road tar on my car!!!

I'm so pissed off. The local DOT Is in the process of repaving the road outside my subdivision, I have to travel it every day. They are doing it at night and it is leaving little pieces of gravel and tar on the road and it is all over my car. Little black specs everywhere. I tryed to wash it off but it is diffacult, some comes off some smears. What can I do to get it off ? It really pisses me off that they do this and could care less about peoples cars. I know that they have to do it but there has to be a better process. Please help.

same thing happened to me last week. my car is yellow...what a nightmare..luckily though you can try what I do. WD-40. Just spray a little on a rag and wipe on the tar. I always have a soapy rag in the other hand to wipe over it as soon as it is off. I usually end up just spraying it on the tar(big chunks sometimes) and that works good. Took me 3 hours to wash my car, and it is hot in the South. Hope this helps..

I usually soak a paper towel in a product called Goo Gone and wipe over the tar. It will thin it and remove it. Then I go over with soapy water and dry.

One word WD-40 works everytime.

I use citrus spray stuff that is made by the same people who make goo gone. It works great. Then wash that off with soapy water.

Goo Gone itself works pretty well too.

I'm a Goo Gone fan myself. Goo Gone, and Simple Green... you can never have too much of that stuff lying around ;)

I've been using those bug and tar wipes. They work really well. They're about 3-4 bucks for a container of them.

i heard that coke can strip tar off vehicles..uhhhh..scary!

I heard coke can eat metal if you give it enough time.

Anyway after reading this I went and washed and waxed my car. The citrus stuff removes that stuff really easily. I think it might be the same thing as goo gone except in a spray bottle.

Don't forget to wax after using this kind of stuff. Almost all of what was listed will strip your wax.
