Got my new speakers today :)

I just got done installing my new Infinity 6002i reference speakers. They sound awesome... Only problem is they are not hooked up to my amp. Whats the best way to get wire to the door and is it hard?? Thanks

YES it is hard.

The best way to get wire to the door is to just hook up to the stock wires behind the deck.

Unless you like hitting yourself in the head, don't bother trying to run new speaker wire into the door. It's a HUGE hassle, and you will get NO audible gains from doing it.

If this a component set, you can fit the crossover inside the door - that's what I did. Lemme know if you need any other advice hooking them up.

so just cut the wires i need off the harness?

hihoslva April-20th-2003 07:58 AM

That's what I would do.

Leave enough room on both ends to re-connect the wire should you want or need to, and be sure to tape off the now unused portion.

Aight man - according to 12v.com's install bay database, here is the wiring scheme for a 1996 Protege (that's a second gen, right?). I think it is safe to assume this is correct info for all 2nd gens - if you open things up and the colors don't seem right, we can find out the right ones.

Or, if you tell me what year car you have, we can find out directly beforehand. Anyway, all 2nd gen years seem to be the same from what I see:

Well here's the link for a 97 - though I think they are the same:
