Not really comparible. the kicker is $180 retail more then the alpine amp.

Also the Alpine speakers should be the type R's for the front as well not a different series.

Your budget and goals will decide for you in most cases.

one key element of your system you seem to be missing...or missing the point of, is you need to use the same series of speakers in both the front and the back....not necessarilary the same size...but the same series or TYPE of speakers (as in brand and model ).

oh really. Well why don't you just call me an idiot while your at it. :D j/k. Well i thought the Infinitys were the same model line. Plus in my other vehicle i ran JVC's and Kenwoods and they sounded good, and the shop recommended them...
But i guess i just don't know anything.

The Infinty's are from the same model line, the Alpine's are not.

You want to keep the same series of speakers in the front and back so they sound similar that way they blend together better.

they very well may have sounded good to you....but they may have been able to sound BETTER. And unless you REALLY know people at shops that you are dealing with, don't trust them...its been my experience that if they believe you are not knowledgable of the products you are looking at...they will tell you anything to make a sale....not any diffrent than a car dealer, or a repair shop. Just KNOW what you want and what you are looking at before going into stores....its also been my experience that if the sales person is knowledgable, and you have done your "homework" about what you want....they will in turn be very helpful and more importantly...they will be honest with you.

Do the research on your own, make inteligent, calculated, deliberate decisions when it comes to spending your hard earned cash.

What makes you think you NEED to use the same brand of speakers front and rear? I didn't realize that was a set rule. :rolleyes:

no one said it was a SET RULE....but it will be easier to get a good set of matched sounding speakers doing it this way.....

Never said you can't mix.....but I believe that sort of thing is left to those with a lot more experience to do a lot of research...and its more of an audiophile that could and would truely appreciate the tiniest differnce that can be achieved with a delicate balance in a car.

In my last car (2001 Eclipse GT) I was running Infinity Kappa components in the front and Infinity Reference 6x9s in the rear and there was definitely a difference when I got Kappas for the rear also. This is just my experience and I am by no means an expert.
