Front mask and or bra

Hello All

For those that will yell at me for not doing a search first (i did and never really was satisfied with the answers) my appologies in advance but..

I live in a part of Canada with alot of crappy roads and i do have to do some gravel road travel about 10 times a year, so bra or no bra? i have heard the pros and cons but i am wondering (as some of the post's are old) for those that have been using the bra Good or Bad ?? so far and full or magnetic or just a deflector ?

Your thoughs and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I picked up a bug deflector from my dealer... looks pretty cool. :bt:

I'll post a pic tonight when I get home.

I have the factory bra for my ES. It is a very nice piece, fits like a glove with no "flappage" at high speeds. I'm sure it saved me from a few rock chips when I was living in Calgary... they use BIG gravel on the roads there. The other thing that is nice about the factory bra is that it has snapps in the fender wells which hold it in place much better than the bendable hooks on many aftermarket bras. You can't go wrong with the genuine Mazda bra.

Personally I think the deflector type of look like ass. Leave them on pickup trucks where they belong! No offense guys, just my personal oppinion.

How is the paint holding up undernaeth? do you leave it on all the time ? Do you take it off when you wash your car ? let me know as im sure your aware we will be having the same weather

Maybe if your not busy you could stop by sometime where i work and let me have a look. The pics look ok but can never tell from a pic ?

Thanks in advance

I usually only put it on when I am driving on the highway, I haven't had it on in a couple of months. Sometimes I take it off when washing, sometimes not. The only problem I've noticed with leaving it on is that it then freezes to the paint and is a bitch to get off. So far do deterioration to the paint underneith and I have left it on for weeks at a time when I was in Calgary (again with the big stones! ;))

If you want to take a look at it then by all means. Let me know. I'm very busy over the next couple of days (have to mail out wedding invites) but perhaps on the weekend I could put it on and you could have a look.

bra

I got the magnetic bra and I love mine. Itt was a pain in the ass to fit right at first but after I worked it into the hood a few times it looked great. I might wipe under it once a month or so .Nothing gets under it. I got mine on ebay also and I think I paid 25.00. Great for the money.

Here's a pic of my deflector... "personally" I think it's better than the magnetic bra, but your mileage may vary :bt:

It's very easy to take on and off too, which is cool.

Got it right from the dealer. $70 bucks (canadian) plus tax. sounds pretty high, but I'm not sure what they sell for elsewhere.

Not bad looking, I've be debating on getting one of those.

I hate to think about adding the bra but one day after picking up my P5 I noticed some new chips on the front bumper..whats up with that super thin paint or what?

I have one of those hood deflectors too. Got mine from the dealer as well but it's a bit different than Joe's -- mine's smooth all the way across and you need to pop the hood and take out four screws to get it off. It actually looks good -- kind of visually balances out the gaping front air intake and huge landing lights that the P5 comes with. If anyone's interested to see what mine looks like, e-mail for a picture.
