Frequency Reproduction

Hey a VERY important question..

Does ANYONE know what frequency level is loudest in our cars. On average where is the sweet spot for SPL.. What Hz level?

Very very important to me..

The box I'm getting is tuned for 30-32Hz, and the sub-sonic filter needs set @ 25... So that sais a very good SQ sub huh...

But I am competing on the 2nd in SPL.. I need to know what frequency level is best produced and loudest in our cars..

Thanks in advance...

I think there has been some other discussions as well.

thank you, thank you, thank you...

I spoke with JL Audio Technician and he said the sweet spot he would almost guarantee would be around 47Hz. So we are pretty damn much on the money..

Can you believe that the 12W7 only has 84 sq. in of cone area.. That is simply amazing.. Wish there was a class under 100 sq. in.

I'll keep everyone updated..

Living in an apartment is kinda hard to do all that stuff. I would really like to do that. But I want to keep my SQ very high, for I might just go that route in this car.

Not exactly sure what I want to do yet. I also wouldn't want to limit my frequency response buy building a box limited to just 3-5 Hz varience.

Maybe, when I'm older, have kids, and have a garage I'll take on that project..

What do you think I'll hit with a HO12W7 & 500/1 tuned exactly to JL Engineers specs... I'm tuning precisely to their needs for SPL performance.. What do you think I can pull off man?
