Focal vs. MB Quart

What is everyones opinion? I am looking at getting some components for the front and am not sure which one to go with. Give me reasons why one is better than the other.

Focal, not owned by Rockford Fosgate

I have run both, judged both. I personally love the focals. The MB Quart are nice, but I prefer the higher frequency range of the focal. From a competiton point of view, the Focal and the Quarts are the two leading front sound stage speakers. My casual observation would be that the Focals do better in SQ competition, then come Quarts. Dynaudios also do very well, but are not seen as much as the other two.
I would go Focal, but it is my personal preference. If you can, listen to both and decide by ear.
I will also say this, I have never seen folks upgrade from Focals to another type of speaker, only up the product line of Focal!

Have you ever noticed that 6 1/2 Qs seem to lack some detail. My set sounds like they are nt playing alot of harmonics and detail in the musice. I have somewhat started to think its that a 6 1/2 cant properly reproduce some midrange notes.

A very interesting proposition- most 6&1/2 speakers spec down to about 50-60 HTz, but the performance rolls off higher than that, more like 80-100 HTz. Hence a balanced crossover point to the sub is important.
Does your system have an equalizer in it? If so, elevate modestly the higher frequencies and the mids- this is an old trick to elevate the soundstage in cars. It also helps to bring the distinct sounds of left and right out better.
Some companes like Dyn, Focal, and Diamond have speaker sets that have more like a 7 or 8 inch speaker in them, and they do provide the best sound to me. They are a royal pain to install, as you get to gut the door, or fill the floor with a kick panel install.
Either way life is an adventure. ;)

I have heard all of those and don't like the sound as much as the Focals of Quarts, Unless you get in the High$$$ BA's

Hey hey, I own both both Boston Acoustic's they are in my protege, and Utopias, they are in the RX-7 and the Sentra.

I like the sound of both really, but the BA stuff was a true drop in in the Protege, which kept with my install plan for the car.

Neither. Go audition some Image dynamics chameleon components immediately. Both of the spkrs you mentioned are very good but try the images you will not be dissappointed!!
