Factory P5 tweeter with Kenwood in MP3?

Is anyone using the tweeters/pods out of a P5 in an MP3? Will they work with the kenwood stereo? I would think they would be fine as I used them with my Pioneer stereo and some aftermarket coaxials in the door (similiair setup to MP3). I am tryign to find out, because I gave my tweeters to someone and he is worried that he will overload the amp being that they are 4 ohm tweets. I think it will be fine, but want to reassure him.

Should be fine. If I'm not mistaken, the tweeters have an inline-type "crossover" unit. This unit probably has other added capacitors/resistors to keep the load on the head unit safe.

Besides, many decks CAN handle a 2 ohm load, as it's really just a small class A/B amp inside the deck. I don't think he'll have an issue with the tweeters, but I have had speakers paralleled to a deck before with no problems.

The setup is touch weird, but if he likes the sound.. The MP3 comes with coax two way speakers in the front and rear. Hihoslva is right, the sailplane tweeters use an simplistic bass blocker and run off the same line as the front speakers- so they could indeed be installed. My worries would be the funky mix of the sound between the Kenwoods of the MP3 and the sailplane tweeter, and the off centerness of the high frequency image.
This would be a case where reversing the phase of the sail planes might make some sense- it would produce more of an ambient effect from them...
