extra cig sockets...

the extra cig sockets i got a few weeks ago.. so i could plug in my lights and cell charger @ the same time... i wanted a clean look and spliced it and soldered it directly onto the wiring behind the cig socket... after everything was fine, all soldered and taped, test it out... the light on the cig socket lights up, the cell charger lights up... but my blue lights didnt... test it out on another car and nothing... drove around for a bit... and the car charger doesnt work now...

so did i do anything wrong?? i assumed there was no fuse on the extra cig sockets so it's possible... and i heard of ppl doing it... all confused here~~

you may have over excerted the wires cabailities (they are not very thick) 16-18awg at best, you may have blown the cars cig lighter fuse, you may have blown the fuse inside the sockets of your charger or lights, you may have cooked the cig socket itself.....

I would suggest running atleast a 12awg wire from either your ignition wire or an accessory wire from the main harness at the collum (or constant if you want them to be used at any time, not just with the key on) run them in paralell. Also usethe same 12awg wire for the ground wire, but screw it or bolt it to it's own ground point.

there is a chance that you soldered the extra socket backwards..
